As the radiation Oncology community is faced with challenge to achieve very conformal dose distribution while trying to improve local control through dose escalation, the precise location of the target volume and clinical structures have never been more critical. Multi-modality imaging fusion provides us a better way to contour the tumor volume as well as normal tissue. PET-CT, MRI-CT and CT-CT image fusion have been performed on Philips/ADAC treatment planning prior to IMRT planning.
