Mission
The mission of the Asian Oceanic Affairs Subcommittee is to coordinate and enable the AAPM International Affairs Committee programs and functions for the region including Asia and Oceania.
Asian Oceanic Affairs Subcommittee Goals
Currently the subcommittee is working on
1. the involvement of more AAPM members in international activities
2. more effective interaction with medical physicists around the world
3. development of programs and activities addressing regional needs
4. more effective promotion of AAPM membership, programs, and activities
The Programs of the Subcommittee:
1. Develop a functioning liaison relationship with the medical physicists within the Asian and Oceanic region.
2. Promote AAPM membership and activities within the region.
3. Assess the general needs for medical physics specific to the region.
4. Develop plans and activities to meet the needs of medical physicists within the region.
Objectives:
1. Establish infrastructure: Liaisons, Exchange Scientists, internet connections, web presence, and other contacts.
2. Organize Scientific meetings.
3. Coordinate training courses and workshops.
4. Encourage sponsorship of Partners-in-Physics, libraries.
5. Locate resources to support Partners-in-Physics, Libraries, other needs.
